All of my Jean Grey/Phoenix costumes: I try to make 1-2 new Jean suits per year. We know there’s a fuck ton of them, so it’s a completely doable goal. I’ve been costuming since Spring 2008.
Pictured here are the ones I have so far, doubling up with 90’s Jean with the headshot. Sometimes I wear a wig, sometimes I don’t.
Constructions:
90’s Jean - I made this myself except for the belt buckle. I have redone this costume now four times. Pictured are versions 2 (headshot) and 3 (full length shot). Boots premade of vinyl.
Phoenix - This was made for me. I have retired this.
Dark Phoenix - This was made for me. I have retired this.
White Phoenix of the Crown - This was made for me.
The Last Stand Dark Phoenix - This was made for me and given as a gift. I have retired this.
X-Factor Jean Grey - I made this entirely out of spandex. Boots premade of vinyl.
Ok this is pretty cute. I’m not sure if I would make this as I’m sure 30457304853405 people would want to but, I just picture LOVE OF METALLIC GOLD! <3

I haven’t worn her in a while, but I still think my Jean Grey is my best suit. I have to redo parts on her as I keep learning new techniques. I want new gauntlets, bigger shoulder pauldrons, better X-Buckle and belt. I’ve already redone my leg pads three times, this time around they’re at it’s best I think (sectionals below the belt).
I also have to redo @mikemisanthropy’s Cyclops. Well, fix his hood, add some belts and straps. We’re having @fcastle75 make his visor, which I’m excited for.
I’ve been told I’m “too sexy” for Jean Grey. Which, I took both as a compliment and as a disappointment HAHA
